Vetoquinol Otifree 60ml - Directions for use

• Fill the ear canal completely with the solution
• Grasp the flexible parts of the ear canal with the thumb and the middle and ring fingers
• Then, applying repeated pressure, massage upwards in a ventral-dorsal direction.
• In this way, the fluid is moved up and down and the loose parts of the secretion are washed out towards the auricle.
• The intensity of the massage depends on the severity of the pain caused by the ear inflammation
• Simultaneous massage of the ear canal increases, especially in cats, the acceptance of ear cleaning.
• The fluid is removed from the ear with a cotton swab.
• After discharge, the animal removes the dirt particles from the deeper part of the ear canal by shaking its head.
• Further drying of the ear is unnecessary as OTIFREE does not tend to lodge.
• In case of improper cleaning of the ear canal with cotton wool or the like, there is a risk of ear inflammation due to wax being pushed deeper into the eardrum and injuries.
• In the case of more severe contamination, rinse and massage the outer ear canal several times.
• For more thorough cleaning, the ear canal should be rinsed under pressure after the initial cleaning.
• This can be done with an OTIFREE bottle, a dropper or an ear rinsing device.
• Both OTIFREE and water at body temperature can be used as a rinse fluid.
• If water is used, OTIFREE should be used for rinsing again.
• The manufacturer shall not limit the age of the animal

OTIFREE has been formulated to intensively dissolve earwax and dirt lodged in the outer ear canal, while not irritating the outer surface of the skin.

In this way, optimum cleaning properties and effective reduction of factors that can cause inflammation of the external ear canal are obtained, while the product is well tolerated.

The ability to dissolve earwax was achieved with a suitable surfactant.

The oily compounds prevent the skin from drying out, maintaining proper hydration and elasticity to preserve the correct barrier structures.
