- Food for nursing bitches and puppies
Josera Mother & Puppy Salmon & Rice
Complete, gluten-free food specially developed for pregnant and nursing bitches and their puppies.
This unique, high-calorie formula provides all the essential nutrients needed — from the third trimester of pregnancy, through the lactation period, and into the first weeks of the puppies’ lives.
The food supports the healthy development of puppies both in the womb and after birth. Thanks to the small kibble size, it's easy to transition from milk to solid food. Simply soak the kibble in water or Josera Puppy Milk to achieve a soft consistency ideal for young pups.
The balanced recipe with salmon and rice supports the proper development of the digestive, immune, and nervous systems of young dogs. It also offers excellent support for the mother’s body during this demanding time.
Our well-known FamilyPlus food is now called Mother & Puppy Salmon & Rice – new packaging, same trusted quality.
If your bitch requires larger kibble, we recommend Josera High Protein Adult Chicken as an alternative.

Composition (Ingredients):
Dried poultry protein; rice 18%; poultry fat; wholegrain maize; dried salmon protein 6%; maize protein; beet pulp; hydrolysed poultry protein; vegetable fibre; carob meal; minerals; dried chicory root (natural source of inulin)
Feeding Guidelines:
Please note: The recommended quantities are only a guideline and should be adapted to the individual animal's feeding habits and activity level. Always provide access to fresh drinking water.
For nursing bitches:
Nutritional needs depend on the number of puppies, stage of lactation, and milk production. Free feeding (ad libitum) may be suitable, particularly for large litters or large breeds, and in cases of insufficient weight gain. Adjustments based on body condition may be necessary.
For pregnant bitches:
In the final trimester, energy needs vary based on breed size and litter size. Overfeeding should be strictly avoided to reduce the risk of birth complications and lactation issues.
For nursing puppies:
The recommended daily amount applies per puppy and is based on the adult dog's target weight. Feed in multiple small portions per day. Until the end of the 6th week, serve the food crushed and soaked in water (at approx. 37°C). Remove any leftovers after each meal. The quantity of food depends on the age of the puppies, the mother’s milk production, nursing behaviour, and individual development.
